Presien chatbot

Overview

Presien is an award-winning AI vision company who build AI solutions for heavy industry. One of their core products - Blindsight - detects, alerts and informs teams of high-risk interactions when heavy machinery is in use.

The team were looking to combine their video analysis perception models with large language models to create a unified experience that offered greater context around people-plant interactions. This would provide health and safety executives with greater insights, compliance management and action items, through a new chatbot-style interface.

Process

I joined on a freelance basis as there was an immediate need for a product designer on the project. I was paired with a front-end engineer, while collaborating with the CEO for feedback. Our goal: design the core experience along with a new component library that was consistent with Presien’s recent rebrand.

In summary, the project included:

-  Meeting with the CEO to discuss the project and product vision
-  Reviewing technical documentation for project delivery
-  Testing the existing product experience to understand features and usage
-  Discovery research on design patterns for conversational products
-  Defining foundational UI styles
-  Assembling components for the initial user experience
-  Creating user flows for different use cases and scenarios
-  Prototyping various solutions to share for feedback and iteration
-  Designing the core screens for the experience
-  Presenting the deliverables and alignment with engineering for hand-off

Outcome

I presented the final deliverables to the team - followed by a seperate session with the engineers to align design and development expectations. With the core experience and design foundations in place, the next phase of the project could begin, starting with front-end development.
